Legacy of the S C Group
Siro
In 1951 Siro Colarossi and his wife Iolanda left their hometown of Rocca di Mezzo, Italy and arrived in South Africa in search of a promising future. In 1955 Siro and Iolanda settled in the town of Cradock, Eastern Cape where he co-founded his first company, Burls and Colarossi. In 1972 Siro retired from the company and formed his own company S. Colarossi (Pty) Ltd. He was soon joined by his son Peppe and his son-in-law Leo. The company then expanded by forming a division in Knysna, Western Cape which was managed by Peppe while the Head Office in Cradock, Eastern Cape was managed by Siro and Leo. Siro retired in 1997 leaving his legacy of quality performance to the experienced leadership of the family’s second generation and a capable work force where S C Contractors CC was established.
Leo
In 2014, Leo and Peppe parted ways and Leo formed the S C Group SA which operates from its Head Office in Cradock, Eastern Cape. The S C Group of Companies boasts an successful businesses in construction, civil works, hardware retail, plant hire, property development, BEE development companies and mining operations. The S C Group is managed by Leo B. Tech (Italy) and his son Tony B. Com (Hons), B. Compt (Hons) and son-in-law Tertius CA(SA), BCompt. (PDA). The group prides itself in its growth and continuity, characterised by third generation involvement in management and control, giving specific emphasis on structuring BBBEE into the group. The S C Group competes in various sectors and utilises the latest equipment and management systems to offer a diverse range of services and expertise.
